Alcyone was Krishnamurti's boyhood 'star name', alluding to his higher Self. He began writing this remarkable account at the age of 14 while the protege of early Theosophist C.W. Leadbeater. It was published 17 months later, in 1910, as he wrote it, except for corrections to the English and punctuation.

In this book, Krishnamurti records his teachings, as he received them from his spiritual teacher during sleep. They address their young student's problems of daily living and set forth a simple guide to the right behavior - the prerequisite for spiritual progress.
